Very RARE Antique Old SHELL Petroliana Oil Drum Super Gear Lubricant, 1940s

  

This is an Important and Very RARE Antique Old SHELL Petroliana Oil Drum - Super Gear Lubricant, likely dating to the 1940's - early 1950's. This product (Super Gear Lubricant) was made by the Shell Oil Company for a very limited time, and only two known pieces exist, one of them being this item. The stenciled writing on the front reads: SHELL SUPER GEAR LUBRICANT S.

Unlike most Shell oil drums for sale, this was not used as a trashcan, and retains its original lid, cap, and spigot. You will not find another item like this with either of these original features. Approximately 28 inches tall x 13 1/4 inches wide. Good condition for age and use, with expected scuffing, paint loss, and light oxidation please see photos.
