Unusual Antique Old ELECTRIC CAR Automobile Museum Painted Sign, 1930s
This is a fascinating and Unusual Antique Old ELECTRIC CAR Automobile Museum Painted Tin Sign, likely dating to the late 1920's - 1930's. This sign reads: See Electric Car... In all my years as an art and antique dealer, I have never seen or heard of an old sign which advertised electric cars, and I believe this is the only one which has ever been offered for sale. The history of electric cars in America goes all the way back to the first half of the 19th century, and one of these early vehicles was likely the attraction referred to in this sign. The Sandhills Museum is a longstanding local private museum in Valentine, Nebraska, which currently showcases 19th century - early 20th century automobiles, antique farm equipment, and firearms, among other things. It goes without saying that this sign is Pre -Tesla! Approximately 23 x 36 inches, and 3/4 of an inch deep. Good condition for decades of outdoor display use, with an honest patina of moderate oxidation, edge wear, paint loss, and a few small bullet holes please see photos. Acquired in Southern Texas, United States. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!
