This is a thought provoking and highly Unusual Antique Old American Folk Art Painting, pastels or gouache and watercolor on paper, depicting a large humanoid white rabbit with its arm around a sleeping Inuit child, who is portrayed in a stereotypical Eskimo manner of dress, which was common for the time. The rabbit figure is reminiscent of character from the 1950 film Harvey, with James Stewart. However, this artwork was made 30 years prior! In the distance of this scene, a large rising or setting sun, and a small snowcapped cabin can be seen.

This work is dedicated by the artist at the lower edge, which reads: - To Juanita, From Grand' Ma... " Additionally, this piece is signed in the lower right corner: "Gee Morgan. " On the verso, in graphite there are the words: "G. Morgan, and some other writing which is illegible to me. I could not find any information on this artist, but perhaps you know more about them or their work? Approximately 12 x 13 1/4 inches including frame. Actual artwork is approximately 10 1/2 x 12 inches.

Very good condition for age, with some expected scuffing and edge wear to the original period frame please see photos. Acquired in Los Angeles, California.
