The back is made of one piece of a fantastic flamed maple, the curl descending from the left to the right. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood.
The fantastic varnish is of an red-brown color on a golden ground. The violin is in a mint and wonderfully preserved condition, and is ready to play. This instrument has been entirely revised and set-up, including a new Despiau bridge, a new soundpost, a new set of pegs, a new tailpiece & chinrest, and a set of Thomastik Dominant strings. On the inside back can be found the original label of Emile Mennesson, "Joseph Guarini fecit, Anno 1886 n° 1924, Emile Mennesson à Reims (Marne), Seul concessionnaire pour la France et l'étranger", and includes the "A" series mention and the signed monogram "EM". The instrument is guaranteed 100% original and authentic.
