This is an exceptional and Fine Antique Old 19th c. Floral Flowers Fruit Still Life Oil Painting on Canvas, depicting several citrus fruits, likely oranges, and three delicately painted iris flowers, which have a storied and symbolic meaning in Western art. These flowers typically represent hope, wisdom, faith or new beginnings. These fruits and flowers are laid upon a richly detailed red silken backdrop, and the lifelike detail employed by the artist of this painting is phenomenal and visually striking. Signed: "More" at the lower left edge.

I could not identify the particular painter of this piece, but perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? Additionally, metal fasteners affixed to the corners of the stretcher bars on the verso of this piece bear the stamped patent dates of: "1883" and 1885. This artwork likely dates to the 1890's - 1900's. Approximately 16 x 20 inches. Very good overall condition for well over a century of age and storage, with some mild scuffing and wear to the edges of the painted canvas please see photos.
