This offering is for a vintage mid 20th century circa 1940's folk art wooden figure of a young boy. The figure is made of 1/2" think plywood and he measure 24" in height, the width from his bum to his outstretched hand is app. The figure is painted wearing a cap typical of those of the 1940's or earlier era combined with overalls that also seem to be of that period.

The figure is double sided and the paint on both sides is very nice with a little more wear to one side than the other. The surface has aged wonderfully with crazing, minor fading and scattered wear indicating it was displayed out doors. I'm not sure what the boy was used for, it could have been posed to look at though he was holding something from moving or simply a kind of stop gesture. Either way he is quite fun and displays beautifully. Other than as noted the condition is excellent with only very minor wear.
