This listing is for this Wormy Chestnut mirror. The frame was handcrafted from old growth re-claimed Chestnut lumber.

We left the original outside of the log. This is called the live edge. This is a one of a kind piece that can never be replicated!

The wood used here is reclaimed from a old church near Franklin PA. And is over 150 years old.

Chestnut lumber virtually became extinct due to a blight many years ago. Lumber like this cannot be found in new lumber of today! The age of this wood gives it a beautiful patina!

It was handcrafted here in our shop in Springfield, Ohio! We take the time to make sure all of the details of each piece is perfect!

This ensures us that each piece looks like they have been around a very long time and that they last even longer! Due to the irregular shape it may take up to a couple more inches of wall space.

This piece features a solid re-claimed chestnut wood frame construction, pocket hole joinery for strength. The mirror is new double strength and 1/8 thick. Our reclaimed lumber may have natural wormholes, nail holes, cracks, wear, etc. Please look at pictures to see. This gives the piece a lot of character. These defects in no way harm the integrity of the frame. The frame is built very solid! We cut around any major defects. The wood was finished with 2 coats of a satin Tung oil. This enhances the natural beauty of the wood, leaves a satin finish, preserves the natural patina and seals and protects the wood. We have built 100's of mirrors and chalkboards over the last 15 years for various businesses such as restaurants, wineries, bars, farm markets etc.
