This is an utterly charming 18th Century Georgian Half. Oil on Canvas Portrait Painting depicting a young 5. Old-girl wearing a blue frilly dress and holding a leather-bound book. The pretty young girl is seen with tight curls in her red/brown hair.

She is wearing makeup, together with. Appears to be a very expensive gold pearl necklace around her neck. She is adorned in her best blue frilly frock or dress, whilst in her right hand, she is holding a red leather-bound book.

According to the rear of the work, the beautiful portrait painting is attributed to the following. Portrait of Miss Louisa Wallis, aged 5 years and 9 months. H Linley Pinxit March 3rd 17... A truly marvellous period piece which will look outstanding hung on the wall of any setting.

Offered in an overall fabulous condition commensurate with age. There is a large ancient canvas patch repair to rear, and the heavily scrolled gesso frame has some minor areas of gilt loss, but none of the above minute imperfections detracts from the overall beauty and indeed, they all add to the charm, character and authenticity of this period piece.
