Old C19 French street sign wall plate plaque cast iron Rue des Halles Paris

  

This is made from cast iron. It dates from the nineteenth century and is from Paris city centre 75001. If you look at the street on Google Maps you will find similar iron examples and later enamel ones. Very heavy gauge - a little under 5 kilos.

This is the real thing from a real street in real France. Not a copy, not made yesterday. Bought fifteen years ago at the immense and long closed twice-yearly flea market at Paris Vincennes. Time for this and several similar to go. Around four thousand house numbers in stock at the last count - large, small, old, high, low, enamel, cast metal, bell metal, convex, flat, Danish, French, Australian, Japanese, German, Belgian, UK. Please let me know if this is not the number or style you require. But I have few numbers higher than #600. All numbers accurately described - I do not try and mislead customers by applying euphemisms such as "authentic" or "traditional" or "original" or "vintage" or "style" to pass off cheap repro items as the real thing.
