Hand Made Primitive Style Hooked Rug Turkey Thanksgiving Old Tom Rusty Oranges

  

This rug was hooked by me, using a pattern by Lori Brechlin, Notforgotten Farm. I enjoyed working on this as its just wonderful fun; it's the fourth and final one that I've made this year and I'm really happy with each one. Hooked on a sturdy monks cloth base, the bird is hooked with many different wool fabric strips in multiple shades of burnt orange and rust.

The background is from multiple pieces of charcoal and black wool strips. Finished by whipping edges with wool yarn over binding tape and sewn securely. Measures approximately 10 by 15 inches. Would look great on a wall, tacked to a cupboard, draped over a chair, or as a table mat. Would make a wonderful heartfelt gift for someone special, a fantastic seasonal or all year long accent.
